Spot what's at risk and why
Overview
Socratic helps you identify work items that are at risk. This could be work that is likely to be late and work that is blocked or stalled / idle for some period of time
How it works
For accurate risk identification, Socratic considers:
- Epics that are forecasted to complete after their target due date
- Epics that are blocked
- Epics that are stalled or idle
- Issues that are blocked
- Issues that are stalled
By default idle days is set to 30 days (so 30 days without any change/movement). You can specify your own threshold in your question. This threshold also applies to how long an issue or epic has been blocked
This helps teams proactively address issues and maintain momentum.
Types of questions you can ask
Here are some examples questions.
All types of at risk work
- "Show me at risk work"
- "Show me at risk work assigned to Frontend team"
- "Show me at risk worked labeled "Customer""
Work stuck in a status
- "Show me work in the Engineering project that has been in the In Progress status for more than 10 days"
- "Show me work that has been in the Code Review status for more than 5 days"
Idle work only
- "Show me work in the Engineering project that has been idle for more than 40 days"
- "Show me work in the Engineering project with the Customer label that has been idle for more than 20 days"
Late work only

- "Show me work labeled "Customer" and assigned to Sarah that has been blocked or idle for more than 20 days"
- "Show me work assigned to Sarah that is blocked"
Combining skills
- "Show me work that is in the In Progress status within the Engineering project for more than 5 days and labeled Next"
Capabilities & usage
You can filter your analysis by:
- Projects
- Teams
- People
- Labels
- Workflow status
You can also specify a threshold (in days) that is used to only return work that has been blocked or idle greater than X days - e.g., "Show me at risk work but use 20 days as the threshold?"
